Chicharon
A crispy and savory Filipino snack made from fried pork rinds, perfect for dipping in vinegar!
Ingredients
- -2 lbs pork skin
- -1 tbsp salt
- -1 tsp ground black pepper
- -Water (for boiling)
- -Cooking oil (for frying)
- -Vinegar and chili (for dipping, optional)
Instructions
- -Scrape off any excess fat from the pork skin and clean it thoroughly.
- -Boil the pork skin in water with salt for 45 minutes or until tender.
- -Drain the pork skin and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
- -Let the pieces air dry or place them in the refrigerator overnight until completely dry.
- -Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the pork skin until crispy and golden brown.
- -Drain excess oil on paper towels and sprinkle with ground black pepper.
